Truely this 55 mile drive showcases the front range tieing together Rocky Mountain National Park on the North and Golden Gate Canyon State Park to the South. Less than an hours drive from Denver, Boulder, or Ft. Collins the route provides spectacular views of the continental divide. A string of remarkable places will greet you along the way, Rocky Mountain National Park, the Indian Peaks Wilderness Area, Arapahoe National Forest, Roosevelt National Forest, Golden Gate Canyon State Park, Eldora ski area. Be delighted while exploring the small mountain towns of Nederland, Lyons and Allens Park and Estes Park are attractions all unto themselves. Established in 1918 this is Colorado's oldest scenic byway. This drive, in the shadow of Longs Peak, will lead you to high country lakes, trailheads and campgrounds.
